And a cute little "after" one... notice the unsightly 70's air conditioner has been removed from the kitchen wall.. yessssss!
Mike has been painting away in the upstairs bedrooms, living room, kitchen and hallway. All closet and bedroom doors were removed and painted yesterday as well. My mom and grandfather were lending the best painting skills and the job got done! For the upper-level anyway.. the basement doors are a job for another day. Who knew there were NINE doors upstairs. Fun! They are painted a darker shade than the walls (Doors are *prairie dust* and walls are *sand fossil*). Then the new door casings and baseboard trim and window trim will be painted a nice off-white colour called *winter mood* by Pittsburgh Paints. Mike went to Ritchie's today to pick up our new door and sidelight for our front entry. He also brought home all the flooring for upstairs. Wednesday Ritchie's will be coming in to install our bathroom flooring and entry way floor.
Last Monday my father and cousin and grandfather installed the basement windows which will make a huge difference in the winter months especially! Not to mention, they are safe and pretty too.
Our bedroom and Noah's bedroom painting is done. Zac's room is in the basement and will probably be the last to be done. My father is working away at getting our recroom finished and then will move onto the basement bathroom which needs all new insulation and dry-wall.
Our backyard was tilled up and re-seeded over a week ago now and is starting to show some green.. hopefully it all comes in well. Next summer we will have to do a new fence and a some flowerbeds in the backyard. I'll probably just put them along the fence on one side of the yard so that it doesn't take away from any play space. We are hoping we can paint the house by the end of the summer or beginning of fall. It's peeling majorly and needs a good perk-up.
